Soccer Camp
Paige attended soccer camp this week! It was put on by AYSO, Mon-Fr., from 9-12. Only 13 kids attended so it turned out to be a wonderful learning experience for Paige! Her two coaches were from England and were very successful at confusing the kids by constantly calling soccer Football! It was funny to hear the kids continuously correcting them! The weather was extremely hot each day, but Paige was a trooper and battled through! She was awarded "Player of the Day" on Monday and Friday! They had the kids dress up in a crazy outfit for "Wacky Wednesday" and she won the award for that as well! I put a cup on her head and pulled her hair up over it with two buns on the side. She also wore two different colored striped socks. Her hair stayed in until 10 minutes before it was time to go home when someone kicked a ball and it hit her right in the head! On Friday they gave each player a skills test with a score for each skill. They wrote their scores on a little report card and gave it to each kid so they would know what to work on. As a teacher, I loved that part! Overall it was a great camp! So if you receive the many emails AYSO sends out about this camp, I highly recommend you sign up next year! It was well worth the money and each player also got a soccer ball and a t-shirt!
