1/2 Marathon

My 3 sisters and our friend Megan ran the See Jane Run 1/2 Marathon in Boise on June 19. It turned out to be a great experience. The reason I say "turned out" because I just wasn't sure how it would go! I was very nervous the night before for many reasons. It was kinda of like having your second baby, you know what to expect and I don't have too many fond memories of my full marathon I did a few years ago! All of my sisters were dealing with knee problems and I had a few aches and pains in weird places on my body that I had been dealing with so I was nervous! Well, I'm happy to report it went great! The scenery along the trail we ran was beautiful! At the end we had to cross a bridge called "The Friendship" bridge which was breathtaking and so appropriately named considering! Yes, we all had our aches and pains but we were able to push through and complete the race! I got a little choked up at the end because I was so grateful I was finished and didn't have to run 13 more miles! Hallelujah!!! Now my sisters are gun ho and ready to sign up for another! I'm not a running hater this time, but not ready to commit quite yet!

I <3 the green belt here! I plan to run this race next year...given we're not out of town again. Boise has dozens of races coming up...anywhere from 5Ks to full marathons.

Great job! I'm running in the Bryce Canyon Half this weekend, so I'm hoping my experience is as good as yours :)

What a stud! Not only are you one of the coolest friends I have, but now you also possess the talent of running. Not fair!!! Good job!
