Happy Anniversary

Jake and I are celebrating our 14th anniversary today!

I woke up this morning thinking about what we were doing this time 14 years ago, compared to today. . .

June 17, 1995: I had smashed in the side of my dad's truck after leaving our reception center. I took a corner a little to short and hit it on the side of a bridge! Oops! Nerves???? The night before Jake had a little too much fun at his bachelor party. Him and his friend were arrested for disorderly conduct! Nice! The only thing I told him was he had to use his own money to bail himself out! Our small town of Green River prints all arrests in the paper, so you can imagine how many newspaper clippings were attached to our wedding gifts! I'm sure my parents were envisioning our life together with a little uncertainty!

June 17, 2009: Boy we've come along way! We've both graduated from college, have good jobs, 2 daughters, a dog, a cat, many houses and cars, football coach, drivers ed teacher. . . Luckily neither of us have been arrested since! Only a few minor fender benders! Jake said the other day, "We may not have much, but we have a good life and have been very blessed!" I agree! We definitely have our up and downs but I wouldn't change a thing! We live and learn in this life and I'm thankful and grateful to have Jake by my side for the ride! He has an amazing ability to communicate and work through our disagreements until they are resolved! He always puts my needs and the girls way before him, like right now for example, he is out doing drivers ed, and we are all home relaxing! What a man! There is no chance that he will read this, so if you see him, tell him thanks for being a great husband and dad!! I love you Jake!
