Our main reason for going to CA was Taylor's cheer competition at the Anaheim Convention Center. We were up early Saturday morning, after two long days of Disneyland I might add, putting curlers in and hoping the curls would stay in despite the humidity. They did stay in until after the competition at least! Taylor's team performed at 10:40 and did a fantastic job! But they later learned that they had two illegal moves in their routine which would cost them some serious points. They had some work to do before their next performance.
On Sunday morning we had to be there at 9:00! Hurray, another early morning! It was raining so we had to use extra hairspray to ensure curls! The girls fixed their routine and had an even better performance on Sunday. They ended up in 5th place out of 9 teams. Not bad for their 2nd year and they could have placed higher if it weren't for the illegal moves.

The video below is of their Saturday performance. The two illegal moves are when they cradle the basket toss and the girls come out of it in a back walk over. They also had a stunt drop on the left side but made a good recovery!

So another cheerleading season come and gone! Taylor is already looking forward to tryouts for next year. She is trying to talk Paige into trying out for the mini team, but I'm not sure if she has succeeded yet. They were going over jumps, splits, kicks and lines last night and Paige did pretty good! It would be fun to have them both in Raglan although we might have to do some serious fundraising!!

Dang about illegal moves! Was Carrie Ann Inaba one of your judges? (Just a little Dancing w/ the Stars humor.) So, I loved Adam Lambert's Motown song last night. Last week's trippy Ring of Fire, not so much. And I'll talk with you soon.
