I took Taylor to register for 6th grade on Wednesday! She was so excited that she woke up early and got her new little intermediate self all fixed up! We went to the school at 8:00am and there was already a line out the front door! We took a few pictures while we waited, much to Taylor embarrassment, then realized she needed shots to enter 6th grade. Luckily she is all caught up on her shots, so she didn't need them after all! Shwoo! Finally we made it to the front and got her schedule and proceeded to walk around the entire school looking for her classes with the help of a map! Times have changed since I was in 6th grade. No more homeroom with your classes right by each other. She has classes all around Fossil Ridge, even upstairs! We finally got to 6th period and realized she was assigned to the BOYS locker room for PE! Taylor is cursing her boy/girl name at this moment, but we soon discovered she just has the boy teacher, whose office is in the boys locker room. Another Shwoo!! By this time I am already 2 hours late for my training I was suppose to be at, and Taylor's friends were arriving! So I left her there to compare schedules with as many people as she could, hoping to find a friend in at least one of her classes! She will be making new friends this year, because not many of them were! By that evening she had all of her classes, teachers, and room numbers memorized so when we went to Back to School Night that night, she was able to take Jake and I to all her classes without looking at her schedule or the map! We were very impressed! All of her teachers seem great! I'm sure this is only the beginning of a very eventful year!
